Please be wary of sat-navs, they tend to try to direct you over the tops of the hills which can be icy and treacherous in the winter and at night. If using a sat-nav, please set it to take you via Chirk. This is the simplest route.

from Birmingham and the south

Follow the A5 (from the M54) around Shrewsbury and past Oswestry and take the turning for Chirk, after the bridge which brings you into Chirk, look out for a left turn directed to Glyn Ceiriog and the Ceiriog Valley.

This road (B4500) will lead you to Glyn Ceiriog, the largest village in the valley. Continue straight on, following the signs for Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog. After 11 miles you will cross a bridge over the river Ceiriog and enter the village.

FROM Manchester AND THE North

Follow the A5 and turn into Chirk heading for the centre. Just after the shopping street look out for a right turn directed to Glyn Ceiriog and the Ceiriog Valley.

This road (B4500) will lead you to Glyn Ceiriog, the largest village in the valley. Continue straight on, following the signs for Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog. After 11 miles you will cross a bridge over the river Ceiriog and enter the village.
